The purpose of this study is to find out the place of continuous assessment in academic achievement of students in Nigerian secondary schools, as the introduction was described as motivation for scholars. It is observed that the assessment put forward at the end of the session, term or the course of study has some inherent weaknesses. Therefore, the New National Policy in Education emphasized the use of continuous assessment in schools. The write up looks at the continuous assessment as a model of Evaluation in Social Studies. Recommendations were made.
